- A man reported being assaulted by his father-in-law a couple of days
before Christmas.
When deputies responded, they found the reporting party passed out on
the floor. Further investigation concluded that the man was suffering
from low blood sugar and the effects of a cocktail of allergy medication
and alcohol. He did not appear to have any injuries.
It turned out that the "assault" had occurred when the man's wife tried
to leave the room and the intoxicated man blocked the doorway. His wife's
dad removed him from her path.
- Vandals wrecked the ATM at US Bank.
- A woman was cited after she allegedly drove another motorist off
the road.
- A Crossroads resident reported that someone dumped out his trash
and made off with his trash can.

- Someone also vandalized a signboard in the same neighborhood.
- Someone reportedly tampered with concrete blankets and survey stakes
at a local job site.
- Firefighters summoned deputies to a residence where there was a
fire and uncooperative residents. They apparently didn't understand
that their burn was out of compliance with fire regulations.
- A parent called from out of town requesting that deputies check
on her house, where she feared her son was throwing a party.
The boy did have friends on hand, but nobody was drunk or disorderly.
The responding deputy called mom, who got on the line and made her son
send his buddies home.
- A local rancher gave a lift to a man who was stranded with two flat
tires. He was slightly taken aback that his passenger proceeded to
pop open a beer while driving into town.
