Man arrested after incident in Sisters street
Failed to execute CGI : Win32 Error Code = 3 An off duty Black Butte Ranch police officer and a sheriff's deputy responded to a 7 a.m. report of a woman screaming for someone to call police. According to Deschutes County Sheriff's Office reports, the deputy arrived to find a Jeep Cherokee partially blocking South Fir Street, just south of Hood Avenue. The driveline was clearly broken. The alleged victim said that she and her husband, David Wayne Hughes, 25, their two young children and another woman were driving back over the mountains after attending a wedding in LaPine. She said her
husband had gotten very drunk the night before and beat her up. He was
reportedly sleeping it off in the car

Hughes then allegedly grabbed the woman by the neck and threw her to the ground. He got in the car and rammed the gear shift back and forth several times until the driveline broke with a loud bang. He then got out of the car and started to leave before allegedly turning back to throw his wife to the ground a second time. Hughes took off again and was tracked down by a deputy, who arrested him for fourth degree assault in the presence of a minor child -- a felony. The alleged victim had bumps on her head and red marks on her neck, according to deputies. According to sheriff's office reports, this was the fourth time Hughes had been arrested for assaulting his wife.
