Sheriff's calls
Failed to execute CGI : Win32 Error Code = 3
- Three Sisters businesses were hit by burglaries on July 10. In each
case, a door was pried open. In two cases, small amounts of accessible
cash were taken. Deputies are investigating.
- A deputy stopped to help
a stranded motorist. The man had an outstanding drunk driving warrant
out of Prineville, so he wound up in the slammer.
- A man complained that another
driver made a "gun" with his fingers and pointed it at him in traffic.
The other driver denied it. He said the first driver was tailgating
and attempting to make a dangerous pass.
He allowed as how he had
shook his finger at the man. He didn't specify which finger.
- A woman reported that her
camera was stolen from her motel room.
- A Sisters man overdosed
on sleeping pills in an unsuccessful suicide attempt. He was transported
to the hospital.
- A woman was most peeved
at the sheriff's office for not taking care of her problem with stray
cattle.

The bovines are drifting across her property, and she's worried about
her nursery. Deputies explained open range laws, which the lady finds
unacceptable. She threatened to take her shotgun to the cows.
She was last seen screaming
at the cattle and chasing them toward Dry Canyon.
- A woman was bitten by a
loose dog on Three Creek Road.
- A dog had to be put down
after it was hit by a car on Highway 20. The driver never stopped.
- An Akita attacked another
dog that was taking its person for a walk in Sisters. The owner of the
Akita was cited.
- Deputies investigating
a separate theft complaint located several hanging baskets that appeared
to be ones stolen from Sisters businesses recently.
The resident of the home
where they were found averred that "they just showed up on her deck."
She had no idea --none -- where they came from.
A deputy was to contact
the property owners to see if they wished to pursue theft complaints.
