Sheriff's calls
- A couple of cars rolled
on icy roads, but the occupants escaped injury.
- Deputies responded to a
domestic violence report where a woman had allegedly punched her boyfriend
a few times in the face.
The woman could not be located
and the man did not want her to be found and arrested.
The man reportedly seemed
proud of his lady's fighting abilities and told deputies he didn't mind
when she punched on him.
- A man reported a paralyzed
deer in his yard. A deputy responded and dispatched the deer with a
gunshot.
- A local business woman
reported that some patriotic kleptomaniac stole an American flag from
her business.
Even thieves feel a new
sense of pride and unity...
- A young Sisters man was
refused an alcohol purchase at a local market because he appeared to
have already taken on plenty.
The 21-year-old then went
to a bar, where he allegedly told folks that he was thinking of robbing
the place.
Just thinking about it.
He made no direct threats and didn't show any weapons. But he was thinking
about it.
When asked why, the young
man allegedly told folks he was going to jail for something that night.
The man then wandered off
and police were unable to track him down.
- A Sisters woman escaped
serious injury in a head-on collision on an icy Highway 20 east of Sisters.
The collision occurred at
relatively low speed.
- A man reported hearing
rifle rounds go over his head while he was hiking at the south end of
Sisters near the sewage treatment plant.
He didn't think anyone was
actually shooting at him. Deputies searched but no shooters did they
find.
