Sisters police chief Haynes dies
David Haynes, who served as Sisters Police Chief from June
1991 to May 1997, died Tuesday, January 29, of natural causes at his home
in Bend.

Allan Godsiff was born and raised on the South Island of New
Zealand, where the sheep easily outnumber the human inhabitants. His father
was a sheep and cattle farmer, and Allan was drawn to the art of shearing
from his boyhood.

Hearing
set on Sisters guest ranch
The Deschutes County Hearings Officer will hold a public hearing
on Tuesday, March 13, at 7 p.m. in the Deschutes County Board of Commissioners
Hearing Room at 1130 Harriman Street in Bend, to consider an application
for a conditional use permit and site plan for a guest ranch on a 155-acre
parcel in an Exclusive Farm Use zone.
