Obituaries Charles "Chuck" Rutschow
Charles "Chuck" Rutschow died
on Thursday, March 21, 2002, in Warm Springs at the age of 84.
Chuck was born on September 23, 1917. He was a dairy farmer in Wisconsin
for 38 years. After his farming career, he and his wife Pearl traveled
by RV around the nation and in Canada.
They settled in Sisters in 1975, where he was a member of Sisters Christian
Church. He moved to Highlookee Lodge, Warm Springs, in January, 2001.
He was a pilot and a member of the Flying Farmers club. He was very community
minded, according to his family, and he enjoyed flying, hunting, fishing,
trucks, tractors and educating himself.
He is survived by his wife Pearl; daughter Jane Kirkpatrick of Moro;
son Craig Rutschow of Redwing, Minnesota; six grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Judy Hurtley
in 1997; four brothers and one sister.
He was to be buried at Camp Polk Cemetery in Sisters.
Harold "Hal" C. Coe
Harold "Hal" C. Coe of Sisters died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, of natural causes. He was 76. Mr. Coe was born October 21, 1925, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He married Dorothy Cunningham on December 26, 1952, in Reno, Nevada. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Coe worked as an electrical contractor. He moved to Sisters in 1976. He was a member of the Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire Protection District Board of Directors for many years. He was also a member of the Sisters Rodeo Association Board of Directors. Survivors include his son, James McMann of Sacramento, California; a stepson, Warren Frey of Sacramento, California; brother Don of Portland; two sisters, Irma Moore and Betty, both of Portland; a granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife.
