Donkey basketball raises funds

Summerfield ... drives... down... the... court...

The Sisters High School gym rang
with cheers and laughter Saturday night, April 6, as 33 daring souls mounted
donkeys for the unique and humbling sport of Donkey Basketball.
The fund-raising spectacle
raised $860 to be split between the Kevin Johnson Scholarship and the
Alumni Association scholarship.
The tourney pitted Sisters
Elementary School: (Thia Tewalt; David Hewett; Kathy Kemper Green; Julie
Kemper; Kelly Powell; Craig Benton) against Sisters Middle School: (Lora
Nordquist; Steve Summerfield; Mim Burke; Midge Rose; Dave Glick; Wes Estvold;
Paul Patton).
Sisters High School teachers
(Kristy Eddy; Michelle Herron; Joe Randall; Tony Cosby; Glen Herron) took
on a powerful Alumni team of Wayne Rowe; Toby Rowe; Ronalie Siler; Travis
Moyer; John Wright.
Two loosely named teams of
"Community All Stars" competed head to head with Tom Coffield; Bill Reed;
Heather Wester; Melvin Herberger; and Scott Buckles taking on Bill Anthony;
Jim Cornelius; Vera Boatwright; Rich Hummell and Theresa Slavkovsky.
