School contractor withdraws low bid
Elting, Inc. of Gladstone, Oregon,
withdrew its low bid for excavation of the new Sisters High School site,
due to an error, according to Sisters School District officials.
The bid was awarded to the
next-lowest bidder, KN Exco, Inc., owned by Kirby Nagelhout. Nagelhout
is the Construction Manager/General Contractor (CMGC) on the project.
Nagelhout's bid of $390,832
is $88,726 below the budgeted estimate.
Savings could allow the school
board to restore cuts made to bring the project within a $21 million budget.
