Kansan
now owns Sisters Veterinary Clinic Dr. Carl Berg
is the new veterinarian/owner of the Sisters Veterinary Clinic.
A native of small-town Kansas,
he graduated from the Kansas State University vet school in 1998.
His first job was at a mixed
practice clinic in Arizona, where a co-worker extolled the virtues of
Central Oregon.
Berg moved in 1999, and soon
he had a dream to own his own clinic.
Passing through Sisters, Berg
and his wife, Steph, would drive by the Sisters Veterinary Clinic, wondering
if it would ever come up for sale.
One day he took a chance and
called to inquire.
"We just needed to see if
there was an opportunity there," he said.
To his delight, Drs. Susan
Conner and Sharon Sharpnack were thinking about selling.
The ideal situation for them
was to find a prospective buyer who would allow them to work on a scaled
down basis.
Thinking this would take quite
some time, they were pleased to discover that Berg appeared to be a perfect
candidate.
"Things happened like clockwork,
almost like it was meant to be," said "Dr. Carl," as he is called at the
clinic. "I can't say enough about how well Dr. Sharon and Dr. Susan have
treated me and my family."
The months of negotiations
allowed all concerned to work out an amicable schedule which appears to
be working smoothly.
Dr. Carl is full of praise
for the clinic staff.
"Even though there are some
changes, they go with the flow. They all are committed to high standards
of compassion for our patients and their owners," he said.
The future goal for the clinic
is to bring in new technology for more advanced diagnostics and treatments.
"Our main purpose, though,
will remain the same," Dr. Berg said. "To continue to serve the community
with high quality veterinary care.
"We all understand the human/animal
bond that makes pets a part of a family, so we offer a comprehensive service."
Dr. Berg and Steph have a
young son, Jack. |
