Sisters man coaches people toward success
By Conrad Weiler

Tim Van Slambrouck.
Tim Van Slambrouck wants individuals to reach and live to their potential. He helps people do that by coaching for competency and success in an individual's career.

He is part of MindWalk consulting and has over 20 years of business/professional experience with leading companies.

"Tim is absolutely phenomenal and an excellent coach," said Pam Lovegren, a local businesswoman. "I have nothing but good things to say about him. He has had a tremendous impact on my business. He is committed to your success and helping the independent business owner."

Van Slambrouck works at developing and executing strategy with his clients. The small business owner or individual gains confidence, competency and leadership skills with his help.

"Implementing useful strategy allows the individual the needed growth to be successful," Van Slambrouck said.

Lorri Craig of the Community Action Team of Sisters (CATS) believes in Van Slambrouck's program.

"Tim is just wonderful," said Lorri Craig of CATS. "He helps you to be a better person and rise to a higher level. He's a coach and little rah, rah person."

During his career, Van Slambrouck has specialized in building global sales organizations and marketing programs. Prior to joining MindWalk, he was with Ernst & Young LLP. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Mathematics from Central Michigan University. He is the former CEO of MicroTrax, a high tech firm making pieces of equipment for disc drives.

Both he and partner Donna Fowler are Certified Professional Effectiveness Coaches and received their training with New Ventures West in San Francisco.

"Standards are important in this business," said Tim. "There are four things to look for in a coach. Training at an accredited institution; credentials from a professional association; life experience; and relationship -- Is this a person you can work with for success?"

MindWalk clients include Genentech, Sun Systems, Oracle, Excel and others. Tim is currently living in Camp Sherman and developing businesses in Central Oregon.

"Coaching is a secret weapon," Van Slambrouck said. "This is a new industry that helps people to grow and become successful. It's not about fixing people. A coach gets the client to see the world, then create new possibilities and finally new practices."

Van Slambrouck may be reached by e-mail at tim@mindwalk.net. He will hold a three-day workshop September 26-28 in Sisters.
