Sheriff's calls
- A deputy arrested a Sisters
man for a restraining order violation after a traffic stop.
The man and his paramour are back together, but they hadn't had the
restraining order dismissed.
- A 17-year-old youth decided
to quit the Oregon Youth Challenge diversion program.
He called his parents, who reportedly told him he was on his own.
The youth got scared in Sisters, realizing his home in Portland was
a long way away.
A deputy tracked down his parents at the Inn of the Seventh Mountain
and delivered the youth to them. He also mentioned the issue of child
abandonment.
- Deputies took a report
from a Sisters man regarding a teenage girl and her friends breaking
into his house and using it for a party pad.
- There were repeated incidents
of cattle roaming across or standing in the middle of Camp Polk Road.
The area is open range, as reported in The Nugget earlier this
month.
We're not saying the cattle read the story, but incidents do seem to
have increased...
- A deputy helped an elderly
lady track down her car, which she "lost" while attending the Quilt
Show.
- Deputies served several
arrest warrants.
- While standing by during
a restraining order service, a deputy noticed that the man involved
had a great horned owl carcass on his night stand.
The deputy cited the man for unlawful possession of a protected bird.
- A Michigan driver's vehicle
was struck by a Chevy pickup truck on Cascade Ave. The driver of the
truck took off from the scene.
- A Sisters pedestrian was
hit by a car while walking across Cascade Ave. inside a crosswalk. the
man suffered leg and arm injuries.
- A local registered sex
offender was picked up on a parole violation.
- A man complained that
his neighbor's dogs run at large and pee on his stuff.
- A deputy witnessed a driver
as he blew a curve on Gist Road near Highway 20, leaving the pavement
and ending up on the dirt shoulder.
The deputy cited the driver for careless driving and violation of his
driver's license restrictions.
- A young woman was arrested
for drunk driving after she drove to her ex-boyfriend's house -- damaging
a planter as she pulled up, -- and punched the young man.
The ex didn't want to press charges; he just wanted the woman to go
away and never come back.
A deputy took her to the hospital on a police officer hold, because
her relatives were concerned that she might hurt herself.
