Kiwanis will host Hole-in-One tourney Sisters area
golfers will take their best shots at making a hole-in-one at the Aspen
Lakes Golf Course this week.
The Sisters Kiwanis Club Community Service Foundation will host the annual
$1 million Hole-In-One fund-raising contest Thursday, July 26 through
Sunday, July 28.
In addition to the $1 million hole, a golfer could land in one of four
other holes, each carrying a valuable prize. A golfer landing in one of
these holes can win a new Honda CRV (donated by Bob Thomas Honda of Bend),
a Chevrolet 4WD extended cab pickup (donated by Dave Hamilton of Redmond),
a Fleetwood Pride 28-ft. Fifth Wheel Recreational Vehicle (donated by
Big Country RV), or two Arctic Cat 500 ATVs with trailer (donated by Central
Oregon Workensport).
Anyone 18 and older, with the exception of professional golfers, can
participate and can shoot as many golf balls as they wish. Golf balls
are $1 per shot and the contributions are tax deductible.
The event is a fund-raiser for a ball field complex in Sisters.
The first three days will be qualifying days during which the golfers
that land within a six foot circle can qualify for the semi-finals that
will be held on Sunday afternoon, July 28. Five semi-finalists who shoot
closest to the hole on late Sunday afternoon will then advance to the
finals on early Sunday evening at which time each will have one shot to
win one of the five Hole-In-One prizes.
Should a golfer win the $1 million prize, the money will be divided 75
percent to the winner and 25 percent to the Sisters Kiwanis which would
use its share to build and maintain the Sisters Community Children's Ball
Field Complex. |
