Sheriff's calls
- A deputy arrested a woman
in Sisters for violating a restraining order in Redmond.
- A woman confronted hunters
who wanted to shoot a deer in her neighbor's back yard. The hunters
left.
- Someone reported hunters
chasing deer in the Buck Run subdivision. A deputy contacted the men,
who said they were tracking a deer that had been injured by someone
else.
- A deputy assisted an elderly
driver who was lost.
- Three young Sisters men
were involved in a physical altercation.
- A woman reported that
her power went out and then there was a loud bang on her wall, then
someone ran away. Deputies surmised that, since there was a thunderstorm
and an area-wide power outage, the "prowler" was probably a thunderclap.
It left no footprints.
- A deputy responded when
a man called to say his wife of 10 months had locked him out of the
house. The deputy stood by while the man retrieved some personal items
and left for a friendlier port of call.
- A woman reported a suspicious
e-mail that sought bank account information.
- Someone stole a replica
of Pat Garret's .45 Colt Peacemaker from a local shop. There was no
suspect information, though it is widely reported that Billy the Kid
didn't really die that night in Fort Sumner...
- A man reported his license
plates stolen from his car.
- Deputies investigated
two deaths that turned out to be from natural causes. One was a former
liver transplant patient who died in his home; the other was the victim
of a heart attack while climbing the Tam McArthur Rim Trail.
Information in "Sisters sheriff's calls" is taken from log entries
and reports of the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office.
