New
units ready to rent at park
Five new manufactured
homes are ready for occupancy at the Sisters Mobile Home and RV Park (formerly
Circle 5).
The units were delivered to
the residential neighborhood on the outskirts of Sisters on Highway 20
earlier last spring, but the process of getting them habitable has been
a long one.
"We had to get some set-up
issues resolved," said park owner Scott McCleery.
"Plat maps had to be filed,
and appropriate permits obtained. I had to have the site engineered to
make sure it was coordinated with what the city wants to do.
"Then, the sites needed to
be excavated, and hooked up to the septic system of the park.
"Some of the delays had to
do with typical contractor and construction scheduling problems."
The new units represent a
change in the appearance of the park -- but not a change of use.
"I took out five older homes
to bring these new ones in," McCleery said.
"I was going to give them
(the older units) away, but nobody wanted them, so I had to dispose of
them.
"Because there was no gain
in the number of units, there were no septic issues. The plan calls for
us to hook up the city sewer system, but that's in the future."
With skirting in place, the
new homes look like permanent fixtures.
"They are ready to rent,"
said McCleery "In fact, one is already rented." |
