Sisters
sheriff's calls
-
Someone ran into the Lazy Z fence at night and left the car stuck there.
The car had been reported in a possible DUI out of Bend. That may have
had something to do with the outcome.
- Deputies responded to
several complaints about dogs barking, dogs on the loose -- the same
kind of stuff that goes on every day in Sisters, where every pet owner
is a responsible pet owner.
- Deputies placed a Police Officer Hold on a Sisters High School student
who was out of control, hitting trees, the building and himself.
- A deputy busted a drunk driver when the driver stopped for gas.
- Someone passed a counterfeit $50 to purchase gas.
- An out-of-town woman found and turned in a wallet with a fair amount
of cash in it.
The owner was notified and his faith in mankind was enhanced.
- A couple of property thefts
from lockers were reported at Sisters High School. A trend may be developing.
- Someone banged a car at the high school parking lot.
- A couple of dogs broke into cages housing domestic pheasants and
killed six of them, valued at $200. The dogs are -- ahem -- really in
the doghouse now.
- A repo man managed to get his assigned pickup truck hooked up, but
not away, when the owner jumped in the truck and drove the truck off
the wrecker.
The move damaged the wrecker and could lead to charges.
- A trespassing dog got
torn up by the resident dog on a Sisters property.
A deputy took the wounded trespasser to the vet. The dog is expected
to recover. There is no word on whether the pooch has sworn off wandering.
- A man reported the theft
of some fire suppression equipment from his property.
- A Sisters youth is forbidden to return to the supermarket, since
the management believes he shoplifted cigarettes.
Information in "Sisters
sheriff's calls" is taken from log entries and reports of the Deschutes
County Sheriff's Office.
