Driver rampages across Tollgate Road

The truck was in even worse shape... Photo by Jim Cornelius
Deputies tracked a Sisters man to his home in Tollgate by following a trail of coolant left after he rammed his pickup truck into several trees and pilings along Tollgate Road on Friday night, February 14.

According to sheriff's office reports, the driver of a 2001 pickup truck was headed south on the road entering the subdivision at a high rate of speed when he left the roadway.

The truck plowed through the brush for several hundred feet, uprooting and breaking trees ranging in diameter from eight to 10 inches.

The truck swerved across the road and took out several roadside pilings.

The truck suffered significant front end and left side damage and leaked radiator fluid in a stream all the way to the driver's house.

Deputies were unable to contact the man Friday night because they were summoned on another high priority call.

The case was handed over to the day shift for further action.
