Plans
underway for drug-free party Parents are already
planning for the "Class of 2003 Drug and Alcohol Free Graduation Party"
-- and they need some help.
A planning committee meeting
has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 5 at 5 p.m. in the Sisters High
School Library. Anyone interested is invited to attend.
The party is an annual event
enjoyed by the seniors the evening of graduation. This year the party
will be at the Sun Mountain Fun Center in Bend. The party is not funded
by the school district and is only made possible through the generous
support of parents and businesses throughout the Sisters and Bend area.
Donations are welcomed and
can consist of merchandise, services, gift certificates or cash. The donations
will be used as prizes and gifts for the Class of 2003.
A quilt made by Laura Simmons
and quilted by Karin Hayden will be raffled off, with proceeds going towards
the party. Tickets for the quilt are $1 each or six for $5. The quilt
is on display at The Stitchin' Post and the drawing will be held June
7.
Ray's Food Place has agreed
to donate 1 percent of total receipts gathered toward the event.
Receipts may be dropped off
at the front office of Sisters High School.
Contributions may be sent
to: Sisters High School, Drug/Alcohol Free Celebration, P.O. Box 3099,
Sisters, OR 97759 or they can be dropped off at SHS at 15200 McKenzie
Hwy. The organization's Federal Tax I.D. number is 93-6000398.
