Sisters' annual Easter Egg hunt set

Children from infants to 11-year-olds will swarm in Creekside City Park on Easter Sunday, April 20, in the annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Sisters-Camp Sherman Volunteer Fire & Ambulance Association.

The action kicks off promptly at 1 p.m., rain or shine, at Creekside Park, off East Jefferson Avenue and the adjoining Three Sisters Overnight Park at the east entrance to Sisters.

The Easter Bunny will oversee the hunt for 4,000 eggs and an additional 16 special prize eggs. For all hunters the Easter Bunny will have chocolate candy eggs.

Children should arrive at the parks 25 minutes before 1 p.m. so they can be divided into four age groups. Each age group will hunt in a different portion of the parks.

They will line up and start from the paved roadways and pathways inside the parks. Each area will have different colored signs, ribbons, and flags marking the age boundary. The ages and their respective colors are:

  • Infants to two years -- orange.
  • Three to five years -- yellow.
  • Six to eight years -- blue.
  • Nine to 11 years -- green.

Out-of-bounds areas are marked with white.

Within each age group area there are four special prize eggs. These plastic prize eggs will be the same color as the age group designation. Inside the egg will be a prize ticket, which needs to be turned into the proper race marshal for that age group. The four race marshals will be wearing orange vests with colored ribbons.

The child will be asked to give name, age and hometown. When all prize eggs have been found the Easter Bunny will redeem them in the center of Three Sisters Overnight Park. One prize egg per child.

Vehicle parking is limited so plan to provide time for walking to the parks.

The Cloverdale Volunteer Firefighters Association will assist in the hosting of this event.
