The

Sisters artist honored for Quilt Show poster
Sisters artist
Dennis McGregor was honored earlier this month at the 2003 NorthWest ADDY
Award competition held in Boise, Idaho.
The competition is the second
of a three-tiered national competition conducted annually by the American
Advertising Federation (AAF).
McGregor Design earned an
Addy Silver Award for last year's Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show poster.
McGregor's work is eligible
for the national competition, but the artist said he is not sure whether
he will enter.
"I think the poster succeeded
because it sort of tipped its hat to patriotism in the wake of 9-11,"
McGregor said. "That strikes a chord with people."
McGregor's work will be featured
in two forthcoming coffeetable books from the Minneapolis publisher Voyager
Press.
"This Old Guitar" will feature
art used in a Sisters Folk Festival Poster and "This Old Quilt" will feature
images from McGregor's Quilt Show posters.
The books will be published
in Fall 2003.
