Summer programs on tap at library

This week's Preschool Parade program, "Counting Capers," is set for Thursday, June 5, at 10:30 a.m.

Each Preschool Parade session features stories, finger rhymes, lap jogs, tickles and movement skills appropriate for children ages three through six years old. Parents or caregivers attending are encouraged to participate in all the activities.

Starting June 19 at 1 p.m., readers ages six to 11 are encouraged to attend the weekly program, Thursday Thrills. Each 45-minute Thursday Thrills program features a variety of stories, crafts, and literature-based activities that celebrate books with imagination and creativity.

The library is also offering a family activity centered around "Booker T. Bat."

Booker T. Bat is hanging around in stores and restaurants in Sisters.

The first family to find him each week and report their discovery to the Sisters Library receives a book to read: "Field Trips: Bug Hunting, Animal Tracking, Bird Watching, Shore Walking" by Jim Arnosky.

Participants may visit the Sisters Library to find out what the library bat looks like and then start hunting.

Readers ages 11 through 17 are invited to participate in the third annual Teen Summer Reading Program (TSRP) -- "Rap, Rhythm and

Read" -- at the Sisters Library. Those who read for three hours will earn a free book.
