A collision near the junction of Highways 20 and 126 on Friday afternoon, June 13, sent a woman to the hospital with facial lacerations and possible head injuries.

According to Deschutes County Sheriff's Office reports, Sisters area resident Ann Bridgeford was heading westbound into Sisters on Highway 20 when her red Jeep Grand Cherokee drifted across the center line.

The Cherokee struck an eastbound Subaru driven by Frances Stevenson, 72, in the driver's side. The Cherokee continued on to strike a juniper tree head-on.

Bridgeford was apparently uninjured in the accident. According to police, she had no idea how the accident occurred. There were no signs of intoxication or any type of medical incident, according to sheriff's office reports.

There was no immediate explanation as to why her car drifted into the oncoming traffic lane.

Stevenson was listed in good condition at St. Charles medical Center as of Monday, June 16.
