Garbage
rates go up It will
cost a little more for Sisters residents to get rid of the garbage next
month. On June 12, the Sisters City Council adopted new rates for several
city services, licenses and permits.
New garbage collection
rates will be effective July 25. The new rates will offset higher dump
fees and cardboard recycling costs.
A 32-gallon garbage
can will increase from $10 per month to $11 for residential use and $12
to $13 for commercial use.
The 64-gallon residential
cans will bump up $1.50 from $12.50 to $14 a month and commercial use
will go from $14.50 to $16 a month.
Dumpster rates were
also boosted: One-and-a-half-yard dumpsters increased $4 permonth, two-yard
dumpsters increased $12 per month, three-yard increased $23 permonth and
five-yard increased $25 per month.
At the suggestion
of the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce and the Barclay Park Planning
Committee, the City's business license fee was increased by $5 to provide
funds for Barclay Park maintenance.
The new fee will
be $105 per year. This fee is effective July 1.
The City will now
require a $500 damage deposit for large events in city parks where a tent
is erected.
The Transient Merchant
License was increased from $40 to $100 per day, effective immediately.
