CATS selects new Community Advocate
The Community Action Team of Sisters, a member of the Central Oregon Partnership, selected Trego for the post. She is one of seven Community Advocates hired to coordinate poverty reduction initiatives throughout the Central Oregon region. Nancy Knoble, Executive Director of the Central Oregon Partnership, is excited to have Trego on board. "Judy started as our mentoring Program Manager for Sisters and is now working on taking that program to the regional level," Knoble said. "Judy is a real asset to the leadership team of the partnership." Trego has been active in the Sisters community since moving here eight years ago. Early on, she participated as a volunteer at Sisters Elementary School; she then progressed to involvement with the Central Oregon Community College Sisters Center in administration prior to coming to CATS. In addition to her work with CATS, Trego serves on the Sisters City Council. "People ask me how I found this job, and I always say this job found me," Trego said. "I feel privileged to serve the Sisters community in this way." |
