"It was a positive event, a gorgeous evening and a lot of people in town," said event organizer Todd Dow.

Local artists in a variety of mediums displayed their works at 24 locations around town.

Musicians also performed at many of the venues, giving the stroll a festive air.

Dow said there were many people out from Bend and Redmond and from Black Butte Ranch. He said he hoped that provided an economic boost to the merchants who hosted the event.

Dow said he had not talked to enough people to be sure how the event went at each sponsoring business.

He acknowledged that some were more crowded than others, but thought overall the turnout was strong.

He noticed a heavier than usual local turnout.

"We had more Sisters area residents come out and be part of the event than they have in the past," he said.

The evening ended with a musicians' jam session at Sisters Athletic Club, which drew many of the artists who performed during the stroll.

Dow, who owns High Desert Gallery with his wife Myrna, has taken the lead in organizing quarterly art stroll events.
