sheriff's calls
- A man contacted
the sheriff's office with a unique problem last weekend: He was to be
married in half an hour and had forgotten to secure a marriage license.
The man wanted the deputy to contact a judge so the judge could
give the officiating priest verbal approval. The deputy explained that
that was not going to be possible. However, the deputy did note that
the couple could go forward with the ceremony, then go before a judge
this week and get it all made legal.
- A deputy found
a campfire smoldering unattended at Cold Springs Campground. The deputy
doused the fire with water and tracked down the license plate number
of the last vehicle camped at the spot.
- A dog allegedly
bit a child at a subdivision east of town.
Black Butte Ranch Police
- Officers investigated
a theft from the till at the Big Meadow Golf Course Clubhouse.
- An officer stood
by while Forest Service personnel removed a fallen tree that blocked
the eastbound lane of Highway 20.
- An officer popped
a driver speeding at 90 miles an hour in a yellow Cadillac.
- An officer reported
a cougar sighting near the Ranch and also located a deer carcass.
Information in "Sisters sheriff's calls" is taken from log entries
and reports of the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office and Black Butte Ranch
Police Department.
