Public views sought on new library

Sisters area residents may discuss plans for the future of the Sisters Library at a public town hall meeting on Wednesday, November 19, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Sisters Fire Hall, 301 S. Elm Street.

Library staff will provide an overview of the building specifics, floor plan, budget and timeline for the project.

The focus will then shift to discuss what qualities the community believes represent the "spirit of Sisters. Sisters Library Manager Peg Bermel explained that Architect Richard Turi has completed the footprint for the new building, but the aesthetics of the interior and exterior are undetermined at this point.

"It is our hope to gather the community's insight regarding what qualities best represent the Sisters spirit in the new building, Bermel said.
