Hot rods heading toward Sisters The rumbling sound and the flash of bright sunlight on polished chrome that will predominate on Sisters roads next weekend will mark the 15th running of the High Desert Rod & Custom Car Classic. Classic car lovers from all over the Pacific Northwest -- and points far distant -- will converge on Sisters Friday-Sunday, July 23-25, for the annual event. A Show & Shine at Sisters Comfort Inn and Mountain Shadow RV Park will
feature more than 100 beautifully restored hot rods and classic cars of all vintages and descriptions. Show organizers report the largest number of pre-registrations in the history of the show. There is a $3 entry fee for the show, a portion of which will be donated to Sisters Habitat for Humanity. A "Cops & Rodders" game will be conducted from
4:30 to 5 p.m. in place of the traditional "coolest cruiser" contest. A dance is scheduled for Saturday night at the Comfort Inn courtyard from 8 to
11 p.m. For more information contact Bill Lewis at 549-1978.
