involved in a head-on collision on Highway 20 on Friday night.

schools seek to resolve SDC dispute
A
conflict between the City of Sisters and the Sisters School District over
Systems Development Charges (SDCs) may begin moving toward resolution
this week. It has been held in abeyance, at least publicly, for several
months.
City
Hall project still moving, slowly
The
City of Sisters is still planning to build a new city hall on land acquired
last year from the school district (part of the former middle school site)
on the east side of town.
Community
Hall renovation on pace
Camp
Sherman's grand old Community Hall is rounding back into shape and will
be ready for business later this month. The historic building will have
its official grand re-opening party on Saturday, January 22, with a community
potluck dinner.

programs to benefit the needy of Sisters.
COCC
continues to thrive in Sisters
Central
Oregon Commmunity College (COCC) is alive and well in Sisters. Despite
the closing of the college's Sisters Center in June 2003, COCC continues
to serve the community in new classroom space at the Sisters Organization
for Activities and Recreation (SOAR).

sets Sisters' toes tapping with old-time music
When
Tobin Kalebaugh, 12, began fiddle lessons in January of 2000 and his sisters
Becky, 16, and Rachel, 15, began plunking away at piano lessons, little
did they dream that a short couple of years later they would be part of
a fiddle band playing old-time fiddle, gospel and Celtic-influenced music.
