"The stuff the hoodlums stole from the store was worth about 75 bucks, but
the door will cost over $2,000 to replace," said Danny McCarthy, the son of
the campground's owner.
McCarthy and his wife Kim met a Deschutes County Sheriff's deputy at the scene
Sunday morning.
A workshop and motor home at the campground were broken into on Friday,
December 15, and up to $10,000 worth of power tools and telephone and camera
equipment were stolen.
"After that happened we installed the new alarm in the store," said Kim
McCarthy.
"(The store break-in) could have been a lot worse," she said. "But we installed
a Radio Shack alarm and I'll bet it scared the hell out of anyone who was here
last night."
