Gravel mine fight is over

Two days of mediation has ended a year-long battle over a proposed gravel mine and crushing operation four miles west of Sisters.

Although the resolution still must be finalized

with Deschutes County, mine opponents and representatives of mine operator Hap Taylor and Sons, Inc. agreed in talks held January 30 -31 on several conditions that they believe will relieve the concerns of those who have fought against the mine.
