Jim Fisher headed into retirement with a brand-new straw cowboy hat and the good wishes of friends and colleagues as the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce bid their executive director farewell at the chamber's sunset social Tuesday, June 18.

The social was held at Squaw Creek Bed and Breakfast, hosted by the inn's new owners, Susie and Keith Johnson.

Chamber members presented Fisher with the new hat and a cake and thanked him for his five years of service to the organization, a tenure which saw the chamber grow from a small and relatively quiet concern into a 189-member organization noted for its involvement in the Sisters community.

Fisher's duties will be taken over by Chamber Manager Adrienne Van Bemmel, and Fisher asked that chamber members continue to support her and the chamber the way they have supported him for the past five years.
