<p>The Nugget Newspaper serves the area around Sisters, Oregon, located in the
Cascade Mountains 18 miles west of Bend and about 90 miles east of Salem. There
are about 10,000 people in the area.</p>
<p>Sisters has a tourism based economy, serving those who ski, play golf, fly
fish, hike in the high lakes region. We are between the vacation communities
of Black Butte Ranch and Eagle Crest, not far from skiing at Mt. Bachelor (HooDoo
Ski area is just up the road).</p>
<p>The Nugget Newspaper has news stories about this community, including local
sports and weather.</p>
