In these times of tight budgets and troubled government, I think it is important to recognize the folks from City of Sisters Public Works. These men and women work very hard every day to keep our town looking great. Recently I stopped by to watch the entire crew work together to install the new lawn at Creekside Park. The taxpayers certainly get their money's worth from this group of dedicated and hard-working individuals, under the able leadership of Public Works Director Paul Bertagna. The park looks great and so does Sisters. Thanks to all of you for what you do for our

Thank you to Napa Auto Parts and the girls (Free Souls) that did the bikini bike wash, and all the restaurants (Rancho Viejo, Rio Mexican Restaurant, Checkers Pub, Takoda's, and Hardtails Bar & Grill). Also Harley's Angels, Aspen Lakes, Sisters Inn & Suites, FivePine Lodge and Brandon and Kellie at Wildhorse Harley.
I would also like to say a special thank-you to Debbie Engstrom and Steve and Darcy at Hardtails Bar & Grill for all the work that they did. I also want to say thanks to everyone that donated and the band Thunder Roads, also to Anubis (I hope the spelling is okay) who set up the ride.
I know that there are a lot of people that I am forgetting. If I did forget to mention anyone please forgive me, I do not mean to leave anyone out. The whole day was so awe-inspiring, with as many people that donated and helped to make this event what it was.
It is a wonderful feeling to be a part of such a great community that can open their hearts the way everyone did for us.
Tail wags and purrs to Friends of the Sisters Library (FOSL) for their generous donation to Furry Friends Foundation (FFF).
Steve Auerbach of FOSL presented Kiki Dolson of FFF with a $500 check on September 10. The donation represented a portion of the proceeds raised at this year's Sisters Doggie Dash.
The donation will be used to purchase dog and cat food for the FFF Food Bank.
On a camping trip last week, our truck broke down near Santiam Pass. A sincere thank you to Davis Towing and Rollins & Sons Automotive. Both went above and beyond professionalism to turn our adversity into a pleasant experience. Thanks especially to Jeremy Rollins for making our family comfortable and getting us back on the road quickly.
