Jeri, a long-time Sisters resident, passed peacefully away in her sleep early the morning of Tuesday, June 18, as a result of complications of late stage CML leukemia.

Jeri was born, raised and attended nursing school in Washington, D.C. She later moved to southern California in the 1950s, where she worked as an R.N., and a night supervisor and director of nursing at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, Encino Hospital and Pacifica Hospital in Huntington Beach. She also worked as an R.N./Jail Matron at Huntington Beach City Jail.

Jeri lived aboard a 36-foot Cris Craft in the Long Beach Marina before moving to Lowell, Oregon, in the early 1980s and was located in Sisters by the end of that decade. Jeri was known lovingly about town as "the little walker" for her life-long love of walking.

Jeri is survived by her two children, Richard Halloran and his wife Sandy, and Laurie Halloran-Johansson and her husband Thomas; her two grandsons and their wives, Jeff and Jessica Halloran and Tim and Keri Halloran; her great-grandson Andrew; and her two cats, D.C. and Daisy.

Jeri's last walk will be among the mighty Grand Tetons, a place she always loved and where she taught her children the love and respect of nature and the great outdoors. Please join us for an informal celebration of her life at the Village Green, July 19, at noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to Partners in Care Hospice, 2075 N.E. Wyatt Ct., Bend, OR. 97701 or CRAFT Cats, www.craftcats.org, 541-389-8420.
