Bingo & Silent Auction
On Wednesday, November 15 at 6 p.m. at Sisters Coffee Co., Camp Eagle Cap presents an evening of Bingo with a silent auction to raise funds for Camp Eagle Cap. CEC is a local nonprofit offering at-risks kids a free week of wilderness camping, horseback riding and more in a healing environment. Bingo is $10 for 10 games with great prizes. Questions? Enter the Parade ~

The season approaches! Sisters Christmas Parade applicaitons are now available at the Sisters Chamber office. The parade is on Saturday, November 25 and the deadline to turn in applications is Wednesday, November 15. Questions? Email jeri@sisterscountry.com or call 541-549-0251.

Habitat Needs Volunteers

Sisters Habitat for Humanity is seeking volunteers to help in its ReStore, Thrift Store, and on construction sites. Extra hands are always needed! Interested in volunteering? Please contact Store Volunteer Coordinator Jen Binks at 541-549-1193.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child ships shoeboxes filled with school supplies, hygiene items, and toys to children around the world to show God's love in a tangible way. See requirements at samaritanspurse.org/occ or call Joanna, 541-588-0886. Drop off through November 20 at Sisters Community Church: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Friday; 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday; 10 a.m. to noon Sunday; and 8 to 9 a.m. the final Monday, November 20. Questions? Senior Luncheons & More

Sisters-area seniors are invited to join others at the Sisters Senior Luncheon! Lunch is served every Tuesday at noon at Sisters Community Church with a $3.50 suggested donation for those over 60. The espresso hour runs 11 a.m. to noon, and BINGO is played after lunch until 2:30 p.m. A free blood pressure clinic is offered the second Tuesday of the month, 11 a.m. to noon. Questions? Church Holiday Crafts Faire

St. Edward the Martyr Roman Catholic Church presents handcrafted Christmas items, decorations, quilted projects and much more at a holiday faire Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, November 24-26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church. For info call Mary at 541-549-2053 or Laura at 541-383-1972.

Camino de Santiago

Learn about the Camino de Santiago, the ancient pilgrimage across France and Spain, with former U.S. Marine Steven Farrell, who has traveled it twice. Farrell speaks at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 18 at the Sisters Library. This is free to the public. Questions? Please call Liz at 541-312-1032.

Help with Energy Challenge

Starting in December, The Environmental Center is expanding to Sisters with its 16 Free LED lightbulbs program. Help is needed to spread the word to the community. All are welcome to a attend a 1-hour education/information session on Wednesday, November 15 at 9 a.m. or noon at Eurosports. Poster-hangers are also needed. Citizens4Community Presents Moe Carrick

On Wednesday, November 15 from 5:15 to 7:30 p.m. at the Sisters Fire Hall, Moe Carrick will discuss fostering meaningful connections. Wreath-making Extravaganza

Women of Sisters are invited to the Sisters Fire Hall on Saturday, December 2 from 10 a.m. to noon to make fresh evergreen wreaths, centerpieces, and swags. FREE! Council Meeting Change

Free Thanksgiving Feast

See's Candy from Kiwanis

The Kiwanis Club of Sisters will hold their annual See's Candy sales fundraiser out of a trailer in the Ray's Food Place parking lot, beginning Saturday, November 18 through Saturday, December 30 (or until it sells out!), 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily (half-day on Thanksgiving and closed Christmas Day). Profits go to scholarships, career-change assistance, and other Kiwanis service projects. For additional information, please call 541-588-6255.

Career Funds Available

Applications are available for the Sisters Kiwanis Career Opportunity Fund to help adult residents of Sisters establish an occupational path. You may pick up forms at the Kiwanis House, corner of Oak Street and Main Avenue between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursdays, and during regular hours from the Sisters Habitat for Humanity office. Family Fun Story Time

Family Fun Story Times for kids ages birth through 5 take place at the Sisters Library on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. They feature songs, rhymes and crafts, all to grow young readers. Vets: Join the Parade!

Open Computer Lab

Every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Sisters Library, all are welcome to come to the open computer lab to practice skills and get help with issues from library staff. For more information call 541-312-1072.

Taking "Bling" Donations

Sisters Kiwanis takes donations of antique or vintage jewelry and watches, even costume and broken pieces, all year long in preparation for next year's Antique & Collectibles Sale. Home Repair with Habitat

Do you own your home and does it need a fresh coat of exterior paint or maybe a ramp or other repairs? Writers: Meet with Others

Tuesdays in November from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Suttle Tea, the Nanowrimo Writers Group invites writers working on their novel to meet with other writers for support (no critique). Food Assistance at the Kiwanis Food Bank

Your family may be eligible for food assistance at the Sisters Kiwanis Food Bank. Eligibility rules may be found online at fns.usda.gov/tefap or visit the food bank for complete information. The food bank is located at Main Avenue and Oak Street and is open once a week, Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. You may also get cat and dog food weekly during those hours at no charge, provided by Furry Friends Foundation of Sisters.

ASPIRE seeks mentors to advise and assist SHS juniors & seniors navigate a plan to graduation & beyond. Training provided and no experience is necessary; just bring your willingness to help.
