Fundraising Art Guild Sale
The Black Butte Ranch Art Guild is holding a huge sale on Saturday, June 16 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the BBR Maintenance Building off Geo. McAllister Road (at the Hwy. 20 and Camp Sherman intersection). Residents of the Ranch will be selling items to raise funds for the guild, which supports art programs and scholarships for local youth. For information call 541-595-2609.

Annual City BBQ

The City of Sisters presents its 2nd annual BBQ featuring live entertainment on Tuesday, June 19 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. The community is invited to this free event to enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs and more! Bring the family to meet City staff members and enjoy the afternoon. For information call 541-549-6022.

Town Hall Meeting
A town hall meeting with Oregon State Representative Daniel Bonham and Oregon State Senator Cliff Bentz will be held at Sisters City Hall on Wednesday, June 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. For additional information please contact Erika Bentz at 541-709-1560.

CPR and First Aid Class

Sisters-Camp Sherman RFPD will offer the AHA "Heartsaver" CPR/AED class Thursday, June 21 and the First Aid class Friday, June 22 at the Sisters Fire Hall. The cost is $30 which includes a student workbook and completion card. June Art in the Library

During the month of June, Western artist Len Babb is exhibiting paintings depicting buckaroo culture and Old West history in the Sisters Library community room. Parkinson's Support Group

Spinners/Weavers Group

New Oregon Arts & Letters, a Sisters nonprofit organization, invites all ages to join life coach and certified teacher Susan Prince for nature connection, journaling, and more, June 21-23. Family Fun Story Time

Annual Meeting: Indian Meadow Water Company

City Election Materials

Three City Council positions will be open on the Nov. 6 General Election ballot; the terms of Asson, Connolly, and Esterman expire 12/31/18 (and they're eligible to re-apply). To be eligible you must be registered to vote in Oregon and a resident of the city of Sisters for 12 months preceding the election. Pick up election materials at City Hall starting May 30. Veterans Meetings

Food Assistance at the Kiwanis Food Bank

You may be eligible for food assistance. Find eligibility rules at the Sisters Kiwanis Food Bank, located at 328 W. Main Ave., open Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. USDA is an equal opportunity provider prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, nationality, sex, age, religion or disability. Cat and dog food is also available at the food bank, supplied by Furry Friends.

Book Sale Approaches

What's a snuggly quilt without a great book? The annual Friends of the Sisters Library Book Sale will take place at the library during the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show on Saturday, July 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All books will be priced at $1 or less! Save your art for donation! This will be the second year for a Friends of the Sisters Library fundraiser, the Annual Pre-Owned Art Sale. Consider saving your treasures for this event. Solstice Labyrinth and Drum Circle

All are invited to celebrate the beginning of summer at the Sisters Community Labyrinth, Thursday, June 21, at 5:30 p.m. Bring drums and dress brightly. A potluck and fire will follow nearby - bring food, plates, and a folding chair. Families are welcome! The labyrinth is at Hwy. 242 and W. Sisters RVers

If you have an RV (trailer, 5th wheel, motorhome, et al) and would like to know other RVers in Sisters Country, call Tom Kopec at 541-588-6255. No regular meetings, no officers, no dues; just camaraderie with an occasional get-together to share helpful hints with each other. Now at 49 "members"!

Senior Luncheons & More

Adults age 60 and older are invited to join the Sisters Senior Luncheon. Lunch is served every Tuesday at Sisters Community Church with a $4 suggested donation. Coffee and various fun activities begin at 11 a.m. with lunch served at noon. Bingo is played after lunch until 2:30 p.m. For additional information or questions, call 541-480-1843.

Sisters Seeks Planning Commission Members

The City is taking applications for two in-city or out-of-city volunteers to serve on the Planning Commission for 4-year terms. The Commission reviews major land-use applications and advises the Council on planning policies. It regularly meets at 4 p.m. the third Thursday of the month. DLT Walk & Hike Series

Deschutes Land Trust volunteer naturalists lead free walks and hikes in small groups, now through November 2. The required online registration for each outing opens one month before its date.
