Sheriff's investigators have cited a juvenile for animal abuse in connection with the shooting of a dog with an arrow in Panoramic View Estates over the weekend. The case has been referred to the district attorney's office.
Last Sunday, between the hours of nine and 11 a.m., a two-year-old black-and-white male Pekingese mix named Stewie wandered away from his home in the 69000 block of Hinkle Butte Road near Sisters.
Panoramic is a residential area with large parcels of land between homes.
It is unknown how long the dog had been gone from its property, but Stewie's owners noticed the dog return home around 11 a.m. with an arrow lodged in its leg.
Stewie underwent a medical procedure to remove the arrow.
