The Outlaws were stung 19-6 by the Henley Hornets in a non-league match-up at Henley on Friday, October 3.
Henley scored their first touchdown (TD) in the second quarter and at the half held a 7-0 lead over the Outlaws. In the middle of the third quarter the Hornets scored again and pushed to a 13-0 advantage.
Sisters got on the scoreboard at the beginning of the fourth quarter on a 10-yard run by Chase Klient. The PAT failed due to a bad snap but the Outlaws closed the Hornet lead to 13-6.
Henley scored on their next possession when they drove to the Outlaw 40-yard line, faked a run and threw a slant to their receiver for the TD. The PAT failed but with eight minutes left in the game the Hornets held a 19-6 lead.
Sisters continued to struggle. The Outlaws missed tackles and turned the ball over on fourth and three.
Tyler Miller intercepted the ball at the 50-yard line and Sisters regained possession. The Outlaws drove the ball 30 yards but then were intercepted. The last five minutes the Hornets held onto the ball and ran out the clock.
The Outlaws rushed for 173 combined yards. Nick Head led the rushing with 23 carries for 74 yards and Klient had 12 carries for 68 yards. Lucas Reitman had three carries for 16 yards and Levi Rowe chipped in two carries for 15 yards.
Klient was four for eight for 30 yards and had one interception. Rowe had two catches in the game for 18 yards.
Reitman led the defense with 12 tackles. Brandon Morgan had seven tackles and Andrew Goodwin contributed six tackles.
"We did not play our best," said Coach Dusty Macauley. "We really struggled. From the first quarter through the fourth we didn't play a complete game. We had numerous missed blocks that stalled a lot of our drives and mistakes like that will really limit your opportunity to score."
Macauley did have praise for Lucas Reitman.
"Lucas anchored our defense," said Macauley. "He's been solid all season and he's the one guy that didn't miss tackles and he capitalized on his opportunities to make plays."
Sisters will travel to La Pine on Thursday, October 9.
