The Outlaws boys soccer team posted a 10-0 shutout at home against Elmira on Thursday, September 19, to open league play.
Sisters put up four goals in the first half - all four from Jake McAllister. He started off with a breakaway goal up the middle assisted by Justin Harrer just 37 seconds into the game. Ten minutes later he scored again off a combination pass from Ethan Stengel for a nice left-footed goal.
Evan Rickards played a ball to McAllister up the middle at the 22-minute mark. Jake put it in and Sisters went up 3-0. McAllister finished off the first half scoring when he sent a left-footed shot from 20 yards out past the keeper into the right side of the goal.
The Outlaws racked up six additional goals in the second half and held the Falcons scoreless.
Justin Harrer started off the second half action with back-to-back goals in the 49th and 58th minutes.
The first goal was off a cross from Colton Mannhalter where he flicked it in with his back heel. The second was a header off a free kick from Mannhalter.
Evan Rickards scored the next goal off a corner cross followed by Gabe Willitts who scored at the 74-minute mark thanks to a great cross from Mannhalter. Colton dished out another assist to Malachy just a minute later.
Billy Biggers wrapped up Sisters' scoring after his shot was saved three times by the Falcons keeper before he headed it in.
Elmira almost got on the scoreboard with a PK, but Ben Pope made a diving save and kept the shutout intact.
Coach Rob Jensen said, "Overall we played well. Jake (McAllister) did a good job scoring four goals in the first half and set the tone for the game energy. Colton (Mannhalter) made lots of dynamic plays in the middle that led to five assists, which is a season stat for most good players."
The Outlaws will play at Cottage Grove on Thursday, September 26, with a start time of 7 p.m.
