Antique show draws a big crowd

Scratchboard artist featured in 'Dog Show'
Artist Jennifer Hartwig's first introduction to scratchboard art was in a high school class using scratch-paper. Life intervened and she didn't pick up the medium again until 12 years ago. Hartwig, a Sisters resident, is now a scratchboard artist specializing in wildlife and pet portraits, and will be a featured artist in the seventh annual celebration of "The Dog Show: A Fetching Display of Canine Imagery."

A dazzling display of classic cars
Nothing draws a crowd like Sisters' annual Glory Daze Car Show. And last Saturday under sunny skies, Main Avenue was closed off so hundreds of classic-car enthusiasts could stroll down memory lane with over 100 vintage automobiles to enjoy.

SPRD buries the beef for car show
Sisters Park & Recreation District (SPRD) will host "Buried Beef & Brew" from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, in association with the Glory Daze Annual Car Show hosted by the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce. Look for the tent at the corner of Main Avenue and Fir Street, one block north of Cascade Avenue.

Sisters artists featured in Art of the West

'Flash Mob' hits streets for show
Hundreds of visitors admiring the quilts hanging near Cascade Avenue and Elm Street Saturday morning were welcomed to Sisters' 40th Anniversary Quilt Walk by a good-times, high-spirited "flash-mob" dance to the sound of "Celebration" by Pit Bull.
