Sisters Habitat for Humanity, the Sparks family, volunteers and supporters celebrated the completion of the second project under the chapter's newly formed Home Repair Program on Friday, September 6.
A new heating system, roof, gutters, exterior paint, along with some badly needed updating of their plumbing system were some of projects completed on the home of David and Tammy Sparks.
David said, "Sisters Habitat is a village of love that came together to help our family. There will never be enough time in my life to properly thank all the people involved with helping us with the repairs needed on our home."
The family has already seen a savings in their energy bill due to their new heat pump.
"Many thanks go to Deschutes County Justice System and Northwest Quality Roofing, who donated their time to dismantle the old roof and install the new one," said Marie Clasen of Habitat.
Larry Lennon, Bob Harris, Les Cooper and Lance Trowbridge also volunteered with some other projects on the home.
The Home Repair Program serves low-income homeowners with critical home repair issues. Contact the office for more information and/or to see if you qualify 541-541-1193 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
