City adopts new water, sewer rates
The Sisters City Council approved adoption of new methodologies and rates for water and sewer system development charges (SDCs), effective May 10, that will recover the actual costs of providing the services. The City recently updated its water and sewer master plans, which provided an opportune time to update its SDCs.

Local realtors give back to community
Each year since 2009, on the second Thursday in May, tens of thousands of associates from Keller Williams Realty across the country participate in the RED Day (Renew, Energize, Donate) initiative. They donate that day to a wide range of projects, devoting their time to community service through activities ranging from food and blood drives to rebuilding homes and schools for community members in need.

Wrangler is a 'good traveler'
Jason Mitchell has packed an awful lot of adventure into the last year. Shortly after graduating from high school in 2017, the 18-year-old hit the road, determined to be what he calls a "good traveler." One who gets to a town, finds work, makes friends, and develops a good reputation and a cadre of friends watching his back. This is in contrast to a "bad traveler," who burns bridges as he goes and ends up with no friends and likely no memory of the experience.

Developer changes subdivision plans
Developer Peter Hall appeared before the Sisters Planning Commission last week with what he said is the last request for an amendment to the original ClearPine subdivision plan.

Hall's application was for the subdivision of an approximately 10.02-acre parcel within the ClearPine subdivision to create 34 single-family detached lots and 24 single-family attached townhome lots.
