    Kit Stafford: These words of thanks will only touch the surface of the deep and abiding gratitude I feel for every single person who has sent warm wishes for Rodney Jarvis to recover from cardiac arrest. There is no doubt in my mind that had he not been in our community (dancing!), without the response team six blocks away, loving and spiritual thoughts and prayers pouring over him from here to the hospital and back, Rodney would not be alive today.   • Lady Outlaws outrun the competition

    The Sisters girls made easy work of the competition at Junction City last week, racking up 113 points to run away from Junction City (58), La Pine (46) and Alsea (23). Like the boys team, the girls picked up more points than in previous meets in the throwing events (see related story, page 25). Katelyn Meeter popped a career best of 87 feet 11 inches in her first series of throws for the 2012 season, while Cierra Mann improved on her best throw in the discus (93 feet 6 inches) to place fourth.   • HarmonyHouse welcomes songwriter

    Nashville-based singer-songwriter Sally Barris has seen her songs recorded by a wide variety of country music's elite. Those who have cut Barris' songs include country/pop superstars like Martina McBride and Trisha Yearwood, Lee Ann Womack and newcomers like American Idol finalist Kellie Pickler. Barris is brining her songcraft to Sisters for a house concert at HarmonyHouse on Saturday, April 28. Doors open at 7 p.m.; music starts at 8 p.m. There is a $15 suggested donation.... Full story

  • Dutch Bros. Coffee opens in Sisters
