Wildfires to north and south bring smoke to Sisters Country

Folks in Sisters are getting a whiff of an old, familiar — and unwelcome scent in the air on Sunday morning: the smell of wildfire smoke.

The smoke and haze are from fires well to the north and south of the immediate Sisters area.

A 4,300-acre fire southeast of Mount Hood on the border of Warm Springs Reservation blew up Saturday.

A fast-moving 1,000 acre fire is reportedly threatening 125 homes and has brought level 3 evacuations in the Bly Mountain area near Highway 140 in Klamath County.
