Renaissance Sisters Concert

Renaissance Sisters will present a concert of recorder music from the Renaissance thru contemporary and jazz on Sunday, September 8, at 3 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration. Donations will benefit SistersGRO, an independent nonprofit that partners with local donors and Sisters High School to ensure access for all SHS graduates. Reception to follow concert. Weekly Food Pantry

The Wellhouse Church hosts a weekly food pantry Thursdays at 3 p.m. at 222 N. Trinity Way. Both drive-through pick-up and shopping-style distribution are available. Info: 541-549-4184.

Free Lunches for Seniors

For those 60+, the Council on Aging of Central Oregon offers a fun, no-cost social lunch every Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sisters Community Church, 1300 McKenzie Hwy. No reservations needed. No-cost Grab-N-Go lunches take place weekly on Wed. and Thurs., from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Call 541-797-9367.

Central Oregon Federated Republican Meeting

COFRW (Central Oregon Federated Republican Women) meets the first Thursday of every month from 10:45 a.m. (registration) to 1 p.m. at Aspen Lakes Golf Club in Sisters. Come learn from guest speakers, and hear and question local and state candidates. Meetings include lunch for $27. RSVP required to attend. STARS Seeks Volunteers to Transport Patients

Help Sisters Country residents get to nonemergency medical appointments in Sisters, Redmond, and Bend. Attend a free two-hour training. Sisters Garden Journal

Sisters Garden Club has a Garden Journal that is available for $15 at Paulina Springs Books, The Gallimaufry, Three Sisters Floral, C&C Nursery, & Metamorphosis, all in Sisters. Sisters High Desert Chorale

Sisters High Desert Community Chorale will begin rehearsals Monday, September 9 at the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, 121 Brooks Camp Rd. from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. All voices are welcome and no auditions are necessary. Sisters 4-H Dog Group for Youth

Have fun and meet new friends while learning about care & training of dogs, including anatomy, parasites, feeding, different sports that dogs can do, and more. Sisters K9 Paws 4-H encourages youth to set goals and helps to develop self-confidence and problem-solving. In August group members can show their dog at the Deschutes County Fair 4-H Dog Show. This group is open to children 9-18 years of age who weigh as much as their dog. Projects are available for Cloverbud children ages 5 to 8. Faith & Finance Class

Join a 12-week Faith & Finance class, where you will discover God's design for your money. This class is for those just starting to learn how to manage their money, who don't have a lot of money to spare, desire to overcome financial obstacles, or want to save more and pay off debt. Class will be held at Sisters Community Church on Tuesday nights, 5:30-8 p.m., from September 10 through December 3. Dinner and childcare provided. Public Pickleball Courts

There are three pickleball courts available 7 days a week at the middle school tennis courts. All of the tennis courts are permanently lined for pickleball. There are three temporary nets up against the fence that can be moved out onto the court and used or you can bring your own nets. Please put the net back when you are done. Questions? Bike Park 242 Winterization

Bike Park 242 is seeking used tarps. Tarps can be any size or thickness, heavy-duty, weather-proof, typically made from vinyl or polyethylene. Used billboard vinyl tarps from company banner/advertisements are ideal for draping over dirt jumps to preserve them from the freeze-thaw cycles over the winter season. Outlaws Drop-In Tennis

Outlaw tennis is hosting free drop-in tennis on Saturdays, September 14 through October 26, from 9-11 a.m. These are not lessons, but a fun time to play the great game of tennis. Sessions are open to the Sisters community, boys and girls ages 10 and up, and adults. Held at Sisters Middle School tennis courts. Donations are accepted, but not required. The Power of Food Sovereignty

Living Well With Dementia Sisters Support Groups

Living Well now offers two support groups. A support group for the care partners and family of those diagnosed with some form of dementia meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 1-2:30 p.m. at The Lodge in Sisters, 411 E. Carpenter Ln. A support group for the person diagnosed with some form of dementia in the early stages meets the same days and times, also at The Lodge. Info: 541-647-0052.
