It was all over in about three minutes.

When the Sisters fire truck sounded its siren at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, hundreds of children from all around the Pacific Northwest surged onto the grass at Creekside City Park, snatching up colorful eggs and tossing them in Easter baskets.

Sisters-Camp Sherman and Cloverdale fire district volunteers had scattered 4,500 eggs through the park and fire volunteers served as monitors for the popular annual event.

All 4,500 eggs were in baskets in a flash and children wandered around a little stunned by the speed of events. some sat on the grass with a parent and counted their eggs.

Others swarmed to the overnight section of the park to meet the Easter Bunny, who handed out buckets of chocolate eggs -- along with hugs and photo ops.

Some children gathered around a cage full of real white bunnies, petting the soft, furry creatures as parents jockeyed for the best position to shoot photos.
