The boys' tennis team brought home a big 8-0 win over North Marion on Wednesday, March 14 - despite the fact three varsity players didn't play.

Both singles and doubles teams won in straight sets.

Number one singles player, Johannes Traut defeated Ben Brickley 6-0, 6-0. Evan Sims (No. 2) defeated Sam Krekos 6-1, 6-0. Jordan Wilmes (No. 3) won 6-1, 6-4 over Aloma Johnsick, and Charlie Phillips (No. 4) defeated Justin Cha 6-0, 6-1.

The number one duo of Shyma Ellis and Jake Thomas defeated Karl Porath and Phil Martines 6-2, 7-5. Dylan Stuwe and Eric McKinley (No. 2) defeated Nick Devore and Bobby Warner 6-0, 6-1. The No. 3 doubles team of Sam Fullhart and Nick Anthony earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Jared Martinez and Justin Swanson. Erik Sellgren and John Thomas (No. 4) defeated Mychel Gillette and Mike Moritz 6-0, 6-3.

"They all did a fantastic job," said Coach Boyd Stuwe. They showed lots of confidence and determination and never let North Marion back into the game."

Two days later the Outlaws had a skeleton team going into their match with Madras. Almost half of the squad was gone due to spring vacation, but Sisters still managed to squeeze out a 4-3 win.

All four singles won their matches.

Traut (No. 1) defeated Brian Anderson 6-0, 6-0. Evan Sims (No. 2) won 6-0, 6-0 over Sebastian Baum, and Shyama Ellis (No. 3) defeated Josriel Pasikatan 6-2, 6-3. Jake Thomas (No. 4) earned a 6-5, 6-3 victory over Ezra Pasikatan.

The doubles teams weren't able to notch any wins but were competitive in tough matches.

The number two doubles team of Sam Fullhart and Nick Anthony almost pulled out a win when they split sets 4-6, 6-3 and then lost in the tiebreaker 7-10.

"It's still early in the season, and we still have things to work on," said Stuwe. "But, I think the boys did great."
