Furry Friends has received some outstanding items for the raffle at the Taste of Sisters.

Broken Top Veterinary has donated a gift certificate for cold laser treatments, an innovative way to manage pain, reduce inflammation and speed recovery for your pet, or VOM (Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation) six sessions, including consultation, a $350 value.

"We have a beautiful basket donated from Karen Keady of Essentials full of ...minence Organic Skin Care products, valued at $208," said Furry Friends Founder Kiki Dolson. "We've received a fun vintage dog quilt, donated by Barefoot in Sisters, and a framed Three Sisters poster by Paul Leighton."

The drawings will be held the evening of the event. Tickets are $2 each.

You choose the jar or jars into which you would like your drawing tickets to be entered.

The fourth annual Taste of Sisters is set for Friday, September 16, starting at 6 p.m. in the open courtyard at Eurosports, 223 E. Hood Ave.

In past years, more than $8,000 has been raised to help Sisters Kiwanis Food Bank and Furry Friends Foundation.

So far, 17 Sisters businesses - and counting - will be donating the prepared food with a variety of dishes that include vegan, vegetarian, meat, dairy-free and gluten-free options. There are still opportunities for eating establishments to participate, according to organizer Karen Kassy.

She can be contacted through The Nugget.

"It's really a win-win for everyone," Kassy said. "Participants get to eat wonderful food at a sliding-scale price of paying what is comfortable for them: $20-$60 per ticket. Our Sisters-area food establishments reach new people and remind everyone of how great their meals are. And, most important, the Food Bank and Furry Friends Foundation receive money that enables them to help in our community all year long."

Central Oregon Aerial Arts provides jaw-dropping entertainment as performers hang from 25-foot silk ribbons and perform acrobatic feats in the air.

Advance ticket purchase is encourage at Eurosports or online at Bendticket.com. Tickets may be available at the door if it does not sell out.
