Sisters man sentenced for drive-by shooting

Sisters area resident Scott Robert Sheeran was sentenced March 8 to 18 months in prison for his role in a drive-by shooting incident on Deer Ridge Road near Sisters January 26.

Sheeran, 21, pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted assault and three counts of recklessly endangering another person in connection with an incident where shots were fired into a home on Deer Ridge Road from a nearby roadway.

No one was injured in the incident, although Oregon State Police reported that two rounds went through the front window of the home and narrowly missed the home owner.

Prosecutor Steve Gunnels said he told the court that "according to witness statements, Mr. Sheeran chose this house because he believed the owner of the house had turned him in for attempting to poach a deer on the owner's property. This (the shooting) was in retaliation for that."

Joshua Norman Rodgers, 19, was also charged with first degree attempted assault, six counts of recklessly endangering another person and six counts of unlawful use of a weapon. He is scheduled to enter a plea on those charges April 22.

Nathan Allen Gregory, 20, pleaded guilty to hindering prosecution in the case and was sentenced to probation.
