Woman dies in wreck at Hogg Rock

A Tillamook woman was killed Thursday, October 24, and her passenger seriously hurt when she lost control of her vehicle on a snowy Highway 20 and slid into the path of an oncoming pickup truck.

According to Oregon State Police reports, Nancy Jane Taylor, 58, was headed eastbound near Hogg Rock when she lost control of her 1986 Chevrolet Cavalier in snowy, slushy conditions at about 4:25 p.m. Taylor slid into the path of an oncoming Ford F-250 pickup truck towing a travel trailer. The truck struck Taylor's vehicle in the left side driver's door.

Taylor was dead at the scene. Her passenger, Michael Douglas Taylor, 31, also of Tillamook, suffered a head injury and was transported by Air Life to St. Charles Medical Center. He was listed in fair condition on Monday, October 28.
